These instructions apply to approved South Dakota registration orders. Requirements differ for financed vehicles and for vehicles with an original title or manufacturer's certificate.
Step 1 — Complete the power of attorney
Use the POA supplied for your specific order, following any signature and notarization instructions.
Step 2 — Prepare identity verification
Our team may need a driver's license copy and proof of your Social Security number under the applicable application process. Submit any sensitive documents only through the secure method specified by StreetOHV, not in ordinary SMS.
Step 3 — Financed vehicles
If the lender holds the title, obtain the lender's titling department contact information. Our team will explain the required transfer request or correspondence. Do not attempt to change title ownership without lender authorization.
Step 4 — Ownership documentation
If you have an original title, MCO or COO, contact support before mailing documents so we can confirm the correct path and recipient.
Step 5 — Processing and follow-up
Return the required documents using the method in your order instructions. South Dakota registration may involve taxes, annual renewals and processing timelines determined by the state. We'll communicate next steps once documents are reviewed.
