Use this guide only if your order was approved for a Montana registration path. Your order email will identify any additional requirements.
Step 1 — Confirm your Montana LLC
If your service involves a newly formed LLC, wait for the formation details and the exact LLC name. Already have an LLC? Confirm its name with our team. The ownership information on documents must be consistent.
Step 2 — Prepare the power of attorney
Complete the POA supplied with your order, including the vehicle's VIN, year, make, model and your information as instructed. If notarization is required, sign only in the notary's presence. Many banks offer notary services.
Step 3 — Prepare the ownership documents
Gather your original title, MCO/COO or other accepted ownership evidence, as requested. If a bill of sale to the LLC is required, use the supplied template and exact names. For missing-title cases, an authorized VIN inspection such as Montana's MV20 inspection form may be required.
Step 4 — Financing, if applicable
If a lender holds the title, verify that it permits the proposed transfer or titling arrangement; additional authorization may be needed. Do not assume a Montana LLC route is available for every financed vehicle.
Step 5 — Submit your packet
Follow your StreetOHV order email for the exact mailing instructions and originals required. Keep copies and use tracked shipping. Processing, temporary tags, plates and title mailing depend on agency receipt and approval.
